White sesame seed is whitish in color with comparison to natural sesame seed which carries some amount of paleness. Both the natural and white sesame seeds are equally nutritious, have identical properties, taste and usage. It is only the cleanliness and purity associated with the white color that the white sesame seed is widely preferred over the natural variety.
Hulled Sesame Seeds: The husk, hull, or skin of the natural sesame seed is detached. Mechanically hulled and mechanically dried sesame seeds are white or near whitish in color. Hulled sesame seeds are quite softer and delicious as compared to natural sesame seeds. Mechanically hulled sesame seeds are considered nutritious because of its rich protein and valuable minerals content. The odor and taste are distinctive, and are free from any foreign odor and taste, such as staleness or rancidity. |
